    Bruce used to serve as a producer with KNBR 680 of San Francisco before leaving in 2000 to become a host on Sports Overnight America. Afterward, he became an anchor-reporter for ESPN Radio and ESPN International before he was named a fill-in host on Fox Sports Radio and Sporting News Radio. He co-hosted an afternoon drive-time show called The Big Show with Kirk Herbstreit until December 2004 that aired on Columbus, Ohio sports station 1460 the Fan.

    He became the morning announcer at news/talk station WOWO based in Fort Wayne, Indiana in March 2005. In October 2005, he rejoined KNBR as host of the evening show Sportsphone 680. In 2013 he was a host for a weekly baseball talk show, Eye on Baseball on the CBS Sports Radio Network that premiered on April 20 and aired on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon (Eastern).

    The national version of The Damon Bruce Show followed from noon to 2 p.m. In August 2013, the two shows ended.
