Karolina Pliskova was born on March 21, 1992,  in Louny to Radek Plíšek and Martina Plíšková. She has an identical twin sister named Kristyna Pliskova who is two minutes older than her.

Krystyna is, like her younger sister, a professional tennis player. She has won one singles and four doubles titles on the WTA Tour. She has also won nine singles and eight doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.

She reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 35 on July 31, 2017, and won the 2010 Wimbledon Championships junior tournament.

In June 2021, she reached No. 44 in the doubles rankings and currently holds the record for the most aces (31) in a match on the WTA Tour.

She is currently expecting a baby with Slovak footballer Dávid Hancko.
