Keylor Navas Wife: Andrea Salas – Keylor Navas was raised in a poor family in San Isidro de El General, a town in San José province’s southeast. He is an ardent Christian.
Keylor Navas graduated from the Johan Cruyff Institute with a master’s degree in Sport Management in 2022.
Keylor Navas made his professional debut for Deportivo Saprissa on November 6, 2005, against Asociación Deportiva Carmelita in a Primera Liga match.

Real Madrid activated Navas’ €10 million buyout clause on August 3, 2014, and he signed a six-year contract with the club.
On 12 August, he received his first competitive call-up, sitting on the bench as Iker Casillas played in the 2014 UEFA Super Cup, which Real Madrid won 2-0 against Sevilla at Cardiff City Stadium. Navas made his club debut on September 23rd, in a 5-1 win over Elche at the Santiago Bernabéu.
With Casillas’ departure from Real Madrid, Navas inherited the number one jersey for the 2015-16 La Liga season. On August 31, 2015, Madrid agreed to send Navas to Manchester United in exchange for David de Gea, but the deal fell through.
He was the starting goalkeeper when Real Madrid won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League in 2016-17. Navas became the first Costa Rican player to reach 100 La Liga appearances on January 29, 2017, following a 3-0 home win over Real Sociedad in La Liga. His performances during the double-trophy season earned him the Player of the Year award for the second time at the 2017 CONCACAF Awards.
The arrival of Thibaut Courtois to compete for the number one goalkeeping spot marked the start of Navas’ fifth season at Real Madrid. Despite the arrival of Courtois, Navas was chosen to play in the 2018 UEFA Super Cup, which ended in a 2-4 loss to city rivals Atlético Madrid.

On September 2, 2019, Navas signed a four-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Twelve days later, he made his Ligue 1 debut, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 home win over Strasbourg.
Navas won his 20th career club trophy on July 24, 2020, when he defeated Saint-Étienne in the Coupe de France final. He kept a clean sheet and saved a penalty kick in the ensuing shootout as PSG defeated Lyon 6-5 on penalties in the 2020 Coupe de la Ligue Final on July 31.
Navas’ 15th European title matched Rafael Márquez’s CONCACAF record. On August 23, 2020, Navas began his fourth Champions League final, which he lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
Navas was a member of Costa Rica’s national team that competed in the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland.
In August 2006, he was called up for the first time to the senior national team for a friendly tournament in Europe against Austria and Switzerland. He was a member of the Central American and Caribbean Games bronze medalists in 2006.
Navas made his FIFA World Cup debut on June 14, 2014, in a 3-1 group stage win against Uruguay in Fortaleza, and started the other two group games, conceding only one goal as Costa Rica qualified for the knockout stages for the first time at the tournament
Navas was named to the final World Cup squad in May 2018. Keylor Navas was named to the final World Cup squad in November 2022. Navas took seven goals in Costa Rica’s first game against Spain. Navas shut down Japan’s offense in the second game of the group stage, giving Costa Rica a surprise win.
